The Mango Odyssey: From the Philippines to Filipino Stores in Australia Part 2

Our precious cargo arrived yesterday in Australian borders, it encounters the formidable Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON). These stringent regulations are in place to protect Australia's unique environment and agriculture. Our mangoes must undergo meticulous scrutiny by customs and quarantine officials to ensure compliance with these standards.

Customs Inspection: Upon arrival at the air terminal, mangoes are unloaded, every box is carefully examined to ensure proper documentation and adherence to BICON standards, guaranteeing the safety and integrity of our precious cargo.

Packaging and Labeling Inspection: In addition to customs checks, DAFF inspects the packaging and labeling of the mangoes. They ensure that each box is properly labeled and can be contact traced all the way back to the farm where the mangoes were picked. This traceability is crucial for maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Quarantine Facility: Once cleared by customs, the mangoes proceed to a designated quarantine facility overseen by officials from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF). Here, they undergo thorough examination to verify compliance with BICON standards, safeguarding against the introduction of pests and diseases.

Delivery to Filipino Stores: With the DAFF officials satisfied and the mangoes given the all-clear, our Carabao Mango will be delivered to Filipino stores in select Australian cities. From Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, to Adelaide. Stay tuned as we monitor the progress, and once we have the all clear deliveries will commence.
